That’s a very Kumbaya headline, I know. But the truth of it is that linking to other people whether on Twitter or on your blog will get you noticed. Why is that the case? Well, do you check to see who is linking to your or your blog? I know I do. I like to know who is talking about me. Everyone else likes to know who is linking to them as well. That fact is why people will notice when you link to their blog.
I like to share my favorite links around the Internet to promote other bloggers in my niche. This method of linking helps get you noticed and passes on some great information to your readers or followers.
The best part about getting noticed by sharing a link is that many bloggers will find a way to link back to you in the future. It’s almost common courtesy among certain bloggers. I know that I like to acknowledge a link to my blog with at least a comment if not another link. In addition to links or comments, I might also connect with them on Twitter or other social networks if I really like what their blog is about.
I have gotten more out of sharing links than I ever imagined. I’ve made great connections with other bloggers and added extra value to my readers.
At the end of the day, there are so many positives to sharing links. I can’t see why you wouldn’t do it. Go spread the love!

Since taking up residence in the blogosphere I’ve learned the importance of link love. Yes, it’s all Kumbaya but it really works. Recognizing other blogs and sharing with readers how important their are to you get the attention of the blog author…and they do generally return the favor. I’ve started doing a lot of stumbling. Stumbling other blogs is a great way to find other ideas and see what topics are interesting to people. As a matter of fact, I stumbled onto your site. The article was informative and I enjoyed visiting. Hope to see you soon.

Thanks for the comment and the feedback. Stumbling is also a great way to connect and find great stuff around the web.

I agree. One of my favorite things is seeing a blog that has the CommentLuv plugin installed because then it really is a win-win situation. They get exposure, and readers get CL links that give more than our names.
I’m still new at this, though, only blogging for 5 months, and one of the hardest things for me to get through my head is the difference in blog-spam and link-baiting and actual, verifiable content and commentary. I’m getting better, I think.
Even though it takes so much time, social networking and link sharing is the best part of the gig. Now if I could only get a paycheck by doing it.

Eventually, you’ll start to see some income. I know it took me a while, but I still had fun the entire time. I’ve also made some great friends and connections during that time.
