If you don’t know about Blog Action Day, it is a day every year where thousands of bloggers get together to voice their concerns and opinions about a very important global issue. The issue changes every year, and this year the topic is climate change.
Every blog was tasked with trying to write about climate change in the context of their blog. At first, I thought that writing about how social media is helping prevent climate change was going to take a decent amount of research to find some good information. I was wrong, and I’ll never underestimate how widespread social media is and how much impact it can have.
First, I did a quick Google search for “climate change social media.” This yielded immediate results. I found a social media toolkit from WWF on climate change. I found that there are green social networking sites.
Now, I did a Google search for “top green social networks.” I found two top ten lists that I would like to share.
These are great places to start in finding ways to fight climate change through social networks. Do you have a favorite network or blog that talks about climate change? If you do, share it with us in the comments.

I never really got involved with these kind of events before, but I posted one for BAD09, and it made me feel good. I enjoyed myself, and if even one person saw it and it made them think, then it was worth the time it took to write up.
I look forward to next year just to see what the topic is. I voted for Education (obviously).
